Shell was at the Southeast Regional Special Olympics Equestrian competition volunteering for the Special Olympics of NC
I was on a horse, Job, that I knew had something going on, but had tried other support for him; essential oils, calm speaking, natural work. Nothing seemed to encourage him to bend right.
Shell offered her assistance for Job.
All I can say is AMAZING! Shell asked Job if she could help him and he accepted. Shell began acupressure and reiki on Job's right rear and he began licking and chewing. He was having issues with bending at the poll and she worked a miracle on him to accept the bit (normally, we don't use a bit) easier and bend more.
He went on to want to go into the competition ring and show what he can do. Job showed out and bent to the right with ease.
His rider and he won first place in the trail class.
She offered to assist with another horse, Clark, who had some issues in his peck area, due to slow growth in his heels. Again, she was able to help Clark release tension and stress to be more at ease.
Thank you so much Shell, for helping my boys work through their tension and do what they do best

Shell worked with my mare in a way that honored her as an individual and took the time to go at the pace and the pressure she needed. Not only that but my mare improved greatly with noticeably less tension and restriction in her movements and her body. I am so grateful for the work she has done for us and will continue to have her out for maintenance!

Ever had that moment where you swear your horse “just feels off” but every time you call the vet your flexions tests and other diagnostic tools make you feel as if you are chasing a ghost of a lameness? If so, you need Shell with Tryon Equine Bodywork. Before Shell, I considered body work as a “TLC” treatment, not something essential to my athletic partners. Tryon Equine and Bodywork is so much more than that. Shell’s intuition and connection with horses allow a horse to release and relax, as well as pinpoint not just lameness but soreness or tension in other areas. The benefit of Tryon Equine Bodywork is shown as your horse’s lameness is tracked and rated per appointment. I have witnessed this help with diagnostic work with my vet when the appointment I have been waiting on finally comes around. Financially, it limits the amount of imaging and rule outs. What I love about it even more is that it is collaborative care. Tryon Equine Bodywork is not a replacement for a veterinarian, but an additional treatment to assist your horse. This has been so valuable to me, my veterinarians, and my trainer.
Shell has been useful in also allowing my mare to increase her training and move up as her soreness associated with harder work is addressed instead of “just dealing with it.” In turn- I have a horse who isn’t compensating and willing to do more. I have watched Shell handle my most dramatic horse who basically screams “it all hurts!” and a slight soreness it the end of the world to my most stoic mare who could probably walk sound even if you chopped her leg off. Tryon Equine Bodywork has helped my hardest horses on both ends of the spectrum. This is some of the most essential treatments everyone needs for their horse.

Shell does an amazing job of reading my horses and knowing what is holding tension. I can watch them really relax when she works on them! They’re a lot more relaxed and soft after our sessions!
